Energy Performance Certificates

All residential property must have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) carried out before it can be let and a copy must be made available free to the tenant by the landlord.

An EPC is valid for 10 years, so it may be reused when new tenants are signed up. Special rules apply if a landlord rents several identical properties which may save on costs.
